This data set contains the names and locations of schools that have signed the No Idling Pledge with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. The pledge demonstrates a commitment to reducing harmful emissions which can negatively impact children’s health.
Schools that voluntarily sign the pledge commit to:
- Turning off engines while waiting to load and to unload students;
- Using the newest buses for the longest routes;
- Maintain buses to eliminate any visible exhaust;
- Complete school-bus driver training on eliminating idling.
